Weight Lifting ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿผ

There is massive picture of a young Arnold Schwarzenegger overseeing the main room at my gym. It has a hand written inscription dedicated the whom I suppose is the founder of the sporting center. It’s dated 1975.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is originally from Graz, a smaller city than Vienna, situated in the south of Austria, so it makes sense to assume that in 1975 he was a friend of the owner of this gym.

I spent almost 20 years studying martial arts. Traditional Japanese martial arts and I took great pride in the discipline that I was learning and eventually teaching. However I discovered more discipline in my recent weight lifting practice than ever before.

Weight lifting takes no reason. If you don’t practice regularly, you fail. If you don’t follow the plan, you fail. If you don’t eat right, you fail. There are no reason, no excuses, no fancy stories you can tell yourself, you fail.

I’m not even entering the competing ground of powerlifting or body building. That 300lbs bar is not gonna lift by itself and the only way to conquer it is setting a goal, sticking to the plan and fiercely fighting for it. Every day, no matter what.
