My First Two Weeks With Headspace

Attracted by all the fuss around mindfulness, a couple of weeks ago I decided to try meditating. I installed Headspace and tried the basic 10-day program.

I discovered at least three things:

  1. Meditation is a practice. It requires becoming a habit to have any effect. I tried apps like Calm and Headspace in the past, but I had never tried a daily extended practice. Now that it has become a habit, I crave for it, and I enjoy doing it.
  2. I thought it was BS, but it’s not. I find myself more focused, more aware, more interested in exploring deeper meditation and its effects.
  3. As many other practices, it becomes cooler over time. The first few days it’s kinda boring, then it gets better and better.

Interesting! I tried Simple Habits and I’ve been using it for the last month. I’m pretty happy with it but also curious about the ones you’re testing. I just downloaded Headspace, I’ll give it a try 🙂

I’ve tried to practice meditation since I was in my late teens. I’ve never been able to maintain a daily practice, however, until I downloaded this app. Can’t say enough good things about it.
